On Saturday I went to a horse show to try to learn how to take good pictures of horses. It turns out that the type of photo that people like is pretty straightforward and is not very artsy. In fact, if you were to look at a series of show photos you would probably not pick the desired picture as your favorite. Anyway, the only reason I got good pictures is because my camera can do 6.3 frames per second (I think).
This guy was playing this long trumpet (maybe not a trumpet) before every race. He was clearly tone deaf and everyone noticed. I should have got a reaction shot of the crowds sour faces.

This is a pretty good picture in my opinion, but the horse's legs are in the wrong position so it would probably never be popular in the horse world.

This picture is taken with the legs in the proper position. It looks like the horse is standing still, but she is moving pretty quick. Probably faster that you could run.

Some people rode in carts.

This guy was the highlight of the show. I looks like he showed up to a bad casting call. He rode against one other guy and lost. Even though he lost the class he won my heart.

After the riding, the horses all stand in a line for one final judging. It is important to look confident, focused, and in control during this part of the competition.

This was my favorite horse shot of the day.
