Andrew and Lauren are set to be married in April but did not want to waste the beautifully snowy weather we've been having here in Louisville! I took them out a few weeks ago for a pre-engagement session - snow style! I am looking forward to April! Enjoy.

The Barret Babes take on the snow!
We are back from our trip out west and have hit the ground running! This is going to be quite a phototacular year for us here at Magnolia Road Photography! What better way to kick off the new year than with some pretty awesome babes! I left you a teaser a couple of weeks ago and would now love to deliver some of our favorites from the morning - the freezing morning!!!
Thanks Ashley for giving up your healthy babes to the cold winter morning. Enjoy.
Sweet Jane! I love these next two especially.

The Barrett Babes: Emma Edition
Because their mom is a rockstar and up for just about anything; I talked her into bundling up her precious babes and doing a snow photo shoot with me. They were brave because it was coooold and breezy. We had a fun time and got some really stunning shots out of it! Here's a little sneak peak into our morning. Enjoy.

Ring Family shoot + Grandparents
A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of taking out The Ring family along with Lydia's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Cook. We could call them Bill and Jaylin but - not only are they our pastors, but Dr. Cook is also a professor at the seminary.... So Dr. and Mrs. Cook it is!
We had a really great time even though we were forced indoors due to the cold. The Ring's just welcomed a new baby girl to the family making there family a family of five! While life is certainly busy for them, it is quite obvious that their cup is running over with love and excitement for these precious babes they have! Enjoy!

Yates' Cousin Shoot: The Black & White Addition
Color photos are great, don't get me wrong.... but, there is something in the richness of a b&w photo that moves you. It's as if you were blindfolded, listening to an orchestra play. Your sense of hearing is heightened with the removal of your sight and the experience is explosive. This is how a b&w photo effects me. Here are some of my favorites from our shoot a few days ago with the Yates cousins. Enjoy.

Catch me if you can: Smith Family Photo Session
Before I begin this post I must tell you that Kendall may just win the award for most energetic client!! Which is a great thing because our pictures come out so much more fun!! A few weeks ago, we got to spend the afternoon with the Smith's. Although the skies were grey, Evan, Leah, and Kendall brought the sunshine!! Thanks ya'll for a great shoot!

Loving the leg warmers here!

The Lyons Family: Part II
It occurred to me the other day, that I have the best job in the world! Meeting new families and spending a few hours interacting with them has proven to be quite a thrill! And to top it off, we create memories with them and those memories go on their wall or in an album and are deeply cherished. So cool! The Lyons family were no exception to the coolness factor of this job. We had a great morning together and even managed to catch a bit of fall color. Thank you guys for making the drive and for spending the morning with me, you have a beautiful family! Enjoy.

This was probably one of my favorite shots of the day! Her face here is priceless!

Sir Jonah turns ONE!
I am not sure if this is proper photographer etiquette, but... The Rue's are probably some of my favorite people to photograph! They have an amazing son too which makes my job all the more fun. Last week we took out the newly one year old and documented this huge milestone in his life. I believe his favorite part was the neon green cupcake you will see him devour in the end. Thank you Rue's for opening your life up to us, you are remarkable parents and fantastic company! Oh, and Happy Birthday Mr. Jonah! Enjoy.
